There’s a scene in the movie Singles where the lead guy goes to hit on what would turn out to be the lead girl. He explains to the girl that he and his friend have this running bet. He says that when you go to a bar and you approach a girl, you have to have an act, that you can’t just be yourself. His bet with his friend is that he can meet someone by just being himself.
The girl shoots him down almost immediately. She tells him that he has an act and that not having an act is his act.
This is what I thought of when trying to come up with a greeting that hasn’t been done before.
This is a site that goes against all kinds of sense and better judgment. Here you’ll find bits of things that I’ve written and that will soon be published in one form or another. You’ll also find songs by bands that I’ve been in.
Since this thing really shouldn’t be all about me, eventually there will be things that my friends have written, as well as songs by bands I really like (who are kind enough to allow me to put their stuff up here). And let’s not forget the posting board, sure to be a hotbed of controversy and deep thought.
So pull up your chair, grab some refreshments, turn up the speakers, and relax. 'Would You Recognize Me?' is here to make you feel better.
